Lanchenba wins 2nd Kangba Intra Open Chess Tournament

Imphal, April 24 2025: The 2nd Kangba Intra Open Chess Tournament 2025 concluded with a prize distribution ceremony held on Thursday at Ningomthong Bazar Community Hall, Imphal East.

The one-day tournament, conducted on April 23, featured 28 participants including seven female players.

According to a press release from Kangba Chess Academy, Lanchenba Ngairangbam emerged as the overall winner with 4.5 points, followed by Malvin Langpoklakpam in second place with 4 points, and Malemnganba Huirongbam in third with 4 points.

In the category prizes, Sanatombi Nongmeikakpam was named best U-7 player with 1 point, Phalgun Asem secured the best U-10 title with 3 points, and Thoungamba Nongmeikakpam took the best U-15 title with 3.5 points.

Longjam Dhanachandra Singh was recognised as the best disciplined player, also scoring 3.5 points.

All participants received certificates of participation.
