MNCA Men's U-23: Aziz's ton powers RCA to emphatic win; YWC, RULE, KASC also prevail

RCA delivered a crushing defeat to YPHUC, winning by a staggering 364 runs in the 2nd MNCA Men's U-23 Haobam Biramangol Singh Memorial Trophy 2024-25 at Moijing Public Ground on Saturday.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, RCA set an imposing total of 400/7 in their allotted 40 overs.
The innings was spearheaded by a magnificent century from Aziz Mirza, who remained unbeaten on 111 off just 58 balls, including 8 fours and 7 sixes.
His explosive batting, coupled with a strike rate of 191.38, was the highlight of the innings.
Md Alfash also played a crucial role, scoring a rapid 78 off 42 balls, including 16 boundaries.
Captain Syed Hussain contributed with a quickfire 25 off 13 balls, while Zamir Khan and Md Danish Khan chipped in with valuable runs, scoring 26 and 28 respectively.
YPHUC's bowlers had a tough day on the field.
Birbal Irom was the most successful bowler, taking 2 wickets but conceding 56 runs in his 8 overs.
Konsam Mangal Singh also picked up 2 wickets, but the rest of the bowling attack struggled to contain the RCA batsmen, with Maisnam Naseer Singh going for 96 runs in his 8 overs without taking a wicket.
Chasing a daunting target of 401, YPHUC's innings never got off the ground.
They were bowled out for a mere 36 runs in just 17 overs, marking one of the most one-sided matches in recent memory.
Zamir Khan was the star with the ball for RCA, delivering a sensational spell of 4 overs, conceding only 4 runs and taking 6 wickets.
His economy rate of 1.00 was a testament to his control and precision.
Iliyas also impressed, taking 2 wickets for just 10 runs in his 5 overs, while Aziz Mirza and Naesh Hussain picked up a wicket each.
YPHUC's batsmen had no answer to RCA's disciplined bowling attack, with only Irom Sunny Singh reaching double figures, scoring 13 runs.
YWC, meanwhile, enjoyed an emphatic 199-run win over FORCE at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-III Cherapur.
YWC batted first and posted an imposing total of 342/7 in 40 overs, thanks to a brilliant century by Nepram Herojit Singh, who scored 101 off 82 balls.
Maibam Subash Singh also contributed significantly with a quickfire 60 off 43 deliveries.
In response, FORCE struggled to build momentum and were bowled out for just 143 in 29.3 overs.
Yumnam Chingkhei Nganba and Yumnam Athouba were the standout bowlers, each taking three wickets, propelling their side to a resounding victory.
Elsewhere, RULE emerged victorious in their encounter against BLUE HAWK, winning by 6 wickets.
BLUE HAWK, after choosing to bat first, were bowled out for a modest 114 in 35.3 overs.
Sanjenbam Suresh was the pick of the bowlers for RULE, taking 3 wickets for just 10 runs.
In reply, RULE chased down the target in just 16.1 overs, reaching 116/4 .
Jay Singh led the charge with a solid 46 off 42 balls, ensuring a comfortable win for his team.
KASC claimed a 36-run victory against SHADOW in a closely contested match.
Batting first, KASC posted 157 all out in 31.4 overs, with Mujamin top-scoring with 32 runs.
In response, SHADOW were bowled out for 121 in 32.2 overs, despite a valiant 43 from Kh Devis.
Leishangkhong Maqubul Fida Ali and Bm Afsar were the key bowlers for KASC, each taking three wickets to secure the win.
