AR organises bike rally ahead of Lt Col Robert TA Football Tournament

Assam Rifles organised a bike rally to kickstart the third edition of Lt Col Robert TA Football Tournament on Thursday.
The football tournament will be held from February 3-17, 2024 at the Senapati Astro Turf Ground.
The bike rally started from Mao Gate and ended at Kangpokpi, drawing participation from 114 bikers of Royal Brothers Motorcycle Club, Senapati and others.
The rally, which was a prelude to the third edition of the Lieut Col Robert TA Memorial Open Football Tournament showcased a remarkable display of solidarity and camaraderie amongst the participants.
The bikers, representing the strength and unity of Assam Rifles, conveyed a powerful message of remembrance and respect for the fallen hero.
The bike rally was flagged off by Col Aditya Deo, commandant 16 Assam Rifles, Maram Battalion.
More than 30 teams are expected to compete in the football tournament being organised by the Maram Battalion of Assam Rifles/Jwalamukhi sector/IGAR (East) in association with the Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur (SDOAM).
According to the organisers, the tournament stands not only as a platform for sporting excellence but also as a tribute to a valiant officer who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The winning team will receive a cash prize of Rs 3 lakhs while runners-up will get Rs 1.5 lakhs.
The tournament will hand individual prizes as well as consolation prizes to all participating teams.
Apart from that, the semifinalists will be given Rs 40,000 each and quarterfinalists will get Rs 20,000 each, with all participating teams receiving Rs 10,000.The league round matches will be played till February 10 at 7 different venues at T/ Khullen, Senapati, Karong, Asufii Football Academy, Mao, Oklong, Maram and Sadim villages.
Quarterfinals will take place from February 12 and 13, semifinals on February 15 and final match on February 17 .
The Governor of Manipur is expected to attend the closing event.
