Commercial LPG price hiked by ₹14

Ahead of presentation of the union budget on Thursday, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have announced that the price of commercial LPG cylinder shall be increased by Rs 14, effective on February 1.As per the new rate, the price of 19kg cylinder in New Delhi will be Rs 1769.50; Rs 1887 in Kolkata, Rs 1723 in Mumbai, and Rs 1937 in Chennai.
However, there will no change in the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG.
On top of this, OMCs have lowered the price of Aviation Turbine Fuel by Rs 1221 per kilolitre, making it the fourth time the price has been lowered.
All of these will come into effect on February 1.Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPLC) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), and other state-run companies would be able to revise the prices of cooking gas and Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), based on the average international price of the previous month.
While the price of domestic LPG of 14.2kg has not been hiked since August last year; the price of commercial LPG is being revised every month, the number of revisions totalling up to 17 times in the past three years.
On Januaryl, 2021, the price of 19.kg cylinder was Rs 1349, and the rate has changed around 50 times since then, IOC conveyed.
