Skill up-gradation training ends

Imphal, February 01 2024:
The 45-day skill up-gradation training pro gramme on handloom for residents of relief camps concluded at Ideal Girls' College, Akampat, on Thursday.
The training programme organised by Thongju Kendra Relief Committee under the aegis of Weaver Service Centre (WSC) Imphal under SAMARTH scheme of the ministry of textiles, office of the Development Commissioner for Handloom, was participated by 35 residents of relief camps.
During the function, certificates were distributed to the participants.
Speaking at the valedictory function the as chief guest, WSC deputy director (processing) Priyadarshini Daripa, urged the trainees to apply the experience gained to the optimum while assuring that the service centre will provide all possible assistance.
The service centre will organise another training programme very shortly and help the camp residents pursue self-employment goals.
Shintha Handlooms and Handicrafts, Imphal East president S Bhubol, who was also present on the occasion, said that the relief camp residents should not feel dejected due to the present crisis in the state, but strive to derive maximum benefits while staying in the relief camps and contribute towards enhancing economy of the state which has been affected by the present crisis.
The function was also attended by Imphal East District Handloom and Textiles project manager (Handloom) Y Ashalata, social worker Maibam Kamala and Ideal Girls' College Relief Camp Committee convenor Dr Thongam Tilananda as guests of honour.
