Arms, ammos seized at Kpi, CCpur

Central and State forces recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from Kangpokpi and Churachandpur.
While a combined team of 22 Assam Rifles, 30 Assam Rifles, 169 Battalion of CRPF and Kangpokpi police recovered two arms and ammunition during a search operation carried out at Bethel and Nakhujang villages in Kangpokpi today, IGAR (South) said that over 15 arms were recovered from Churachandpur on January 30 and 31 .
As per a statement of IGAR (South), Assam Rifles, Border Security Force and Manipur Police launched a cordon and search operation on January 30 and recovered one 9mm pistol, one point 303 Rifle, one 12mm bore gun, one improvised mortar and other war like stores from Thoroilok village in Churachandpur district.

On January 31 Assam Rifles and Manipur police recovered another consignment of arms, explosives and war like stores from near Songpi Village in Churachandpur district.
The items recovered from Songpi village were two 9mm carbine machine guns, one shotgun, one point 22 Automatic Rifle, one 9mm pistol, nine single barrel rifles, two improvised mortars, ammunition and war like stores, it said and added that the recovered weapons have been handed over to Manipur police.
Meanwhile, the recovered arms and ammunition from Bethel and Nakhujang in Kangpokpi include one AK 56 Rifles with magazine having 10 live rounds and two 12 bore single barrel rifles and the same have been handed over to Sapermeina police station.
