5th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy : RULE, YWC kick off group campaign on winning notes

Imphal, April 26 2025: RULE, Meitram and YWC, Langthabal kicked off their league campaign in the 5th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy on winning notes today.

At Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, RULE opened their Group A Campaign with a 5-wicket Win over KCDO, Kongpal.

RULE dismissed toss winners KCDO for 90 runs in 19.2 overs riding on Jay Singh (3/12), Nongthombam Sarojkumar (2/11) and Rojit (2/10) before they eased to Winning 95 in 12.5 overs courtesy of leading knocks from Sanjenbam Suresh 37 not out off 30 balls, Jay Singh 26 off 29 and N Sarojkumar 13 .

For KCDO, Md Ajizur Rahman topscored with 20 runs before Ksh Dayananda (2/15) led the bowling attack.

Jay Singh was eventually adjudged player of the match.

Meanwhile, YWC pulled off a narrow 2-wicket win against MPSC thanks to Heisnam Manikanta's all round show for the first Group D win later in the day at the same venue.

MPSC added 137/7 after opting to bat first thanks to late blitz from Thongam Somorjit's 38 not out off 23 and Maibam Bijoykumar's 31 not out off 24.YWC however fought their way to winning 141 with two wickets and two balls left to spare thanks to leading knocks from H Manikanta 30 off 29, S Jiko 31 off 27 and M Subash 24 off 26 .

Earlier in the first innings, Y Chingkhei Nganba (2/16) and H Manikanta (2/30) led the YWC bowling attack while Md Fajiruddin (3/30) and P Bonem (2/4) led the MPSC bowling attack in a lost cause.

Manikanta was adjudged player of the match.
