SHADOW, TCMDC enjoy easy victories in MNCA Women's U-23 One Day Trophy

SHADOW and TCMDC recorded commanding victories in Thursday's matches of the 1st MNCA Women's U-23 One Day Trophy 2024-25.SHADOW overpowered PCC by 75 runs in their meeting at SEDOC Ground, Kongba Dhobi Lampak.
Electing to bat, SHADOW posted a competitive total of 219/6 in 35 overs.
Kebriya Devi Sapam starred with a brilliant 71 off 72 balls, supported by Okram Yashica Devi (43) and Moirangthem Nirupama (37).PCC (W) struggled in reply, managing only 144/7 in their 35 overs, with Okram Yashica Devi top-scoring (43).SHADOW's bowlers, led by Nongthombam Langlentholbi Chanu (3/30) and Priyanshee Hanglem (2/22), ensured a comprehensive 75-run victory.
The other match saw TCMDC dominate YPHUC by 71 runs.
YPHUC won the toss and elected to field, but TCMDC managed to put up a challenging total of 145 all out in 22.2 overs.
The innings was spearheaded by captain Athokpam Ten-nish Devi, who played a brisk knock of 33 off 25 balls, including six boundaries.
Anoubam Inao provided early momentum with a quickfire 21 off 20 deliveries, while Tongbram Nilky Devi of YPHUC shone with both bat and ball, taking 4 wickets for 36 runs and later scoring 26 off 22 balls in a valiant but lone effort for her team.
In reply, YPHUC struggled from the outset, collapsing to 21/5 before being bowled out for just 74 in 20.3 overs.
The TCMDC bowlers were relentless, with Ningthoisana Thoudam delivering a standout performance, claiming 4 wickets for a mere 10 runs in 5.3 overs.
Yensembam Nikita Chanu also played a crucial role, taking 3 wickets for 12 runs to stifle any hopes of a YPHUC comeback.
