Imphal, April 28 2025: Model Club, Singjamei Chingamakha shrugged off their first game loss in the 5th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy Group D competition with a huge 172-run victory against NCA, Ningthoukhong today at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College playground.

Former Manipur skipper Meitankeishangbam Langlonyamba starred with a 52-ball 103 to help Model Club post an imposing total of 237 runs for 5 wickets after they opted to bat first and picked three wickets to derail NCA chase at a lowly total of 65 runs with the assistance of Naorem Biyon and Waikhom Priyokumar.

Model Club had a positive start but were reduced to 41/2 in 5.1 overs as Laishram Robertson 15 off 11 and Maisnam Tejkumar 8 off 9 fell prey to L Sadananda and Konthoujam Roshan.

The run rate continued to climb as opener Thoudam Deepak and incoming batter and star of the day Langlonyamba joined forces until until Deepak was bowled out by Takhellambam Pradeep on 21 -ball 25 for the third wicket in the first delivery of the 10th over as the scoreboard read 88.Langlonyamba and Yanglem Suson 45 off 20 then produced a highly commendable 125-run partnership to power Model Club past the 200-run mark before Pradeep got rid of them to reduce Model Club to 214/5 in 19 overs.

Much damage was done by then and the came Dibak Naorem 4 off 4 and Bijenkumar 18 off 4 (1 four and 2 sixes) who added 23 off the final over to fashion an imposing total of 237 runs for 5 .

Chasing the big total, Angom Robinhood 12 off 23 and L Ramdas 10 off 15 gathered highest partnership of 23 runs for the first wicket for NCA before Waikhom Priyokumar undone Ramdas for the first wicket and Langlonyamba got rid of Angom Robinhood.

Before adding any runs, incoming Bobby Yumnam got run out on a 3-ball duck by Langlonyamba off the bowling of Biyon in the second delivery of the 7th over.

The total got stagnant at 23 as Biyon bowled out T Pradeep for a 6-ball duck three balls later to reduce NCA to 23/4 .

The slump continued as Langlonyamba trapped Balkrishna lbw on a 4-ball 8 before Biyon Naorem bowled out Roshan and trapped L Sadanana lbw to complete his treble of wickets leaving NCA tattering at 38/7 in 9.4 overs.

Incoming Khairakpam Vedananda also got run out by Biyon Naorem for the 8th wicket as the scoreboard read 59 before Waikhom Priyokumar set up RK Daniel catch on 2 for the 9th wicket and Langlonyamba bowled out RK Rojeeson on 11 for the final wicket in the 4th delivery of the final over and put NCA to sword at 65 .

Biyon returned with the best bowling figures of 3/13 in 4 overs as Langlonyamba finished with 3/14 in 2.4 overs and Priyokumar returned with 2/13 in 4 overs.

Langlonyamba who shone with both the bat and ball was declared man of the match.
