5 State boxers among 12 Indian semifinalists at Asian U-15 & U-17 Boxing Championships

Imphal, April 25 2025:
As many as 5 State boxers are among 13 Indian semifinalists in the Asian U-15 & U-17 Boxing Championships being underway in Amman, Jordan.
The State athletes who assured themselves a medal for India at the championship include Lairenlakpam Ambedkar in the U-17 category and Kh Nelson, Kh Rudraksh, M Milky and L Linthoi in the U-15 category.
L Ambedkar boxed his way to the semifinals of the 48 kg category with a comprehensive 5-0 unanimous decision win against Ukraine's Oleksiienko.
Khushi Chand and Tikam Singh were also among the Indians boxers who reached the semifinals.

Khushi (46 kg), a bronze-medallist at the 2024 Asian School Boys & Girls Boxing Championship in Abu Dhabi, forced an early end to her quarterfinal bout against Vietnam's Nguyen Thi Hong Yen after out-boxing her.
Tikam (52 kg) got the better of Palestine's Othman Diab in his last-eight contest, which also ended early.
Udham Singh (54 kg), Rahul Gariya (57 kg) also won by unanimous 5-0 decisions, while Aman Dev (50 kg) edged past Jordan's Osamah Al-Khaldi 3-2 in a tight bout.
Jiya (48 kg) defeated Vietnam's Thi Ru Na Dinh for a 5-0 win while Jannat (54 kg) overpowered Ukraine's Anhelina Rumiantseva 4-1 .
U-15 Boys and Girls
Khwairakpam Nelson (55 kg) also eased to the semi-finals of the competition with a comprehensive 5-0 unanimous decision win against Wang Sheng Yang of Chinese Taipei as Khaidem Rudraksh outlasted Kyrgyzstan's Aidar Musaev with a 3-2 split decision verdict in the 46 kg category competition.
Meinam Milky, competing in the 43 kg category competition, overcame Yeldana Abdigani of Kazakhstan with a clean 5-0 verdict and L Linthoi picked up a walkover win in the 45 kg category competition.

Women's U-17 (Quarterfinals): 44-46 kg: Khushi Chand (IND) def.
Nguyen Thi Hong Yen (VIE) � RSC R2; 48 kg: Jiya (IND) def.
Thi Ru Na Dinh (VIE) � WP 5:0; 52 kg: Samiksha Pradeep Singh (IND) lost to Runa Ito (JPN) � WP 1:4; 54 kg: Jannat (IND) def.
Anhelina Rumiantseva (UKR) � WP 4:1; 57 kg: Radhamani Longjam (IND) lost to Indira Kydyrmoldaeva (KAZ) � WP 1:4 .
