69th State Open Badminton Championships : Salam Bidyasagar, Ksh Maheshwari win singles titles

Imphal, April 21 2025:
Salam Bidyasagar of Imphal West (IWDBA) and Ksh Maheshwari of Imphal East (IEDBA) emerged men and women's singles champions in the 69th State Open Badminton Championships that concluded today at MSBA Indoor Stadium, DM University Campus.
Salam Bidyasagar sealed the men's singles title with a 21-14, 21-18 final victory against Moirangthem Sushanta of Kakching (KDBA) this evening.

Earlier in the semi-final matches, Bidyasagar outlasted Rishav Ngangom of Bishnupur (BDBA) 21-13, 21-9 while Sushanta got the better of Hemam Malemnganba of BDBA 21-13, 21-18.Meanwhile, Ksh Maheshwari of IEDBA claimed the women's title with a 21-13, 21-12 win over compatriot Konsam Gunjan.
Lourembam Thoungam of IWDBA in the meantime sealed the U-17 boys' singles title defeating compatriot Chirom Bose 21-13, 20-22, 21-13 in a keenly contested final clash as Tayenjam Leonie of IWDBA breezed past compatriot Sapam Chanulembi 21-8, 21-8 to earn the U-17 girls' singles title.
Mayanglambam Rustam of KDBA meanwhile secured the U-15 boys' singles title this morning with a comeback 23-25, 21-12, 21-10 win over Ng Yaiphaba Singha of Jiribam (JDBA) in the final while K Sonakshi of JDBA sealed the U-15 girls' title with a 21-17, 2-16 win over Soubam Rekispa of Thoubal (TDBA) in the final.
Loitongbam Shannon of IWDBA in the meantime sealed the U-11 boys' singles title today by defeating compatriot Nameirakpam Devasis 21-18, 21-18 in the final match as N Rashithoi of KDBA won the U-11 girls' singles crown with a hardfought 21-12, 9-21, 21-19 win over Seram Chingkheinganbi of IEDBA.
Doubles
The day also saw the elite pair of Konthoujam Dingku and Khwairakpam Manjit representing BDBA secure the men's doubles title today by pulling off a 21-15, 21-17 final victory against Senapati (SDBA) and BDBA pair of Kyoveio Vemai and Ng Rishav this afternoon.
Dingku and Manjit reached the final earlier in the day with a 21-19, 21-19 semi-final win over compatriots H Rohenkumar and RK Alen while Kyoveio Vemai and Rishav outlasted IWDBA pair of Chirom Vikson and RK Ronal 15-21, 21-15, 21-12 in the other semi-final clash.
The women's doubles title in the meantime went to BDBA's Huidrom Velinda and Leimapokpam Diana who sealed a comeback 18-21, 21-14, 21-19 win over IWDBA-KDBA pair of T Leonie and M Somibala.
BDBA-IEDBA pair of K Dingku and Ksh Maheshwari on the other hand claimed the mixed doubles title as they sealed a 21-11, 21-19 win over BDBA pair of RK Alen and Leimapokpam Diana in the final.
IWDBA-BDBA pair of Chirom Bose and Ingudam Martin meanwhile notched up the U-17 boys' doubles title with a 21-15, 21-19 win over IWDBA pair of Ph Neelachan and S Shyamchandra while the U-17 girls' double title went to IWDBA pair of Ashangbam Devika and Sapam Chanulembi who defeated IWDBA-IEDBA pair of L Anjelia and L Nandita 21-9, 21-15 in the final.
U-17 mixed doubles crown also went to BDBA, with the pair of Ng Rishav and RK Dolly dfeated IWDBA pair of L Thoungam and L Anjelia 20-22, 21-15, 21-17 in the title clash.
TDBA pair of Kongkham Anishkumar and Laishram Mahesh on the other hand picked the U-15 boys' doubles title with a 21-15, 6-21, 21-18 win over KDBA pair of W Leonard and M Rustam as JDBA-TDBA pair of K Sonakshi and S Rekispa won the U-15 girls' doubles title with a 21-8, 21-6 win over KDBA-IEDBA pair of E Thoihenbi and S Archana.
KDBA-IEDBA pair of M Rustam and Sanabam Jia meanwhile sealed the U-15 mixed doubles title by securing a 21-18, 21-18 final win over IWDBA pair of H Chintu and Th Urbashi.
Nameirakpam Devasis and L Shannon were able to seal the U-11 boys' doubles title of the championship today with a 21-12, 21-11 win over KDBA-TDBA pair of P Jaychandra and S Riyosnganba while IEDBA-KDBA pair of S Chingkheinganbi and N Rashithoi eased past BDBA pair of S Romibala and Khangembam Sinthangambi 21-10, 21-8 for the U-11 girls' doubles crown.
