4th Herojit Waribam Gold Cup U-14 Hockey YCCIC spank HAYT to top Group B

Imphal, February 17 2017:
YCCIC, Kontha Ahallup overwhelmed HAYT, Singjamei Wangma 6-0 to top Group B in the last league match of the ongoing 4th Herojit Waribam Gold Cup U-14 Hockey tournament underway at the Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium.
Dominating in every aspect of the game, YCCIC surged into the lead as early as the 2nd minute of the match when T Bashu latched onto the ball, dribbled his way through into the penalty box of HAYT and unleashed a power packed shot that beat the custodian of HAYT hands down.
The early goal only spurred the forward line of YCCIC and they continued piling on the pressure with some good moves down the flanks and completely dominated the midfield.
W Rohit made it two goals up in the 6th minute when he found himself well placed inside the D box of HAYT and managed to sound the board to help his team go 2-0 up in the match.
The onslaught continued with some good running and perfect combination and the players of YCCIC were all over the field dictating the pace of the game.
Off one such move, L Pritam received a defence splitting pass on top of the D box and making no mistake swerved around and placed the ball home in the 12th minute.
T Rahul followed soon and after outpacing the defenders of HAYT cooly tapped the ball home in the 14th minute.
The domination was complete and the HAYT players seemed to be merely satisfied with just being out there in the middle without doing anything to put up a semblance of a fight.
Th Beto was in the midst of the action when he received a through ball on top of the penalty box and after side stepping a couple of defenders faced little trouble in sending the ball home in the 26th minute.
L Pritam was it again when he tapped in the ball in the 34th minute to complete the humiliation of HAYT.
With this win YCCIC have moved to the top of the table in Group B with 9 points, recording a clean slate of three wins in three games.
They are followed by SYUC in the second spot with four points having won one, drawn one and lost one followed by MEIRAA with 4 points too with one win, one draw and one loss.
SYUC secured the second spot on better goal difference.
HAYT were placed at the bottom of the table having lost all their three league matches.
In Group A, PHAM topped the table with 9 points, having won all the three matches, followed by PHAM with 6 points, having won two and lost once.
SEYO came third with one win and two losses and HU came at the bottom having lost all their league matches.
