Imphal, January 16 2026:
Hosts Manipur bagged 5 medals including 2 gold today to swell their medal to 12 medals in the 69th National School Games Archery for U-19 boys and girls being underway at RCC ground, Khuman Lampak, Imphal.
Maharashtra meanwhile bagged 3 gold, 3 silver, and one bronze medals to go top of the tally with 5 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Huidrom Rupachandra won Manipur a gold medal in the boys' individual Indian Round event by beating Haryana's Arpit 6-0 in the final as Manipur's Yumnam Jackshon settled for the bronze medal.
The boys compound team of K Punanda Sharma, Laishram Nikhil, Elangbam Lamnganba, and Puyam Vivek also won a gold medal amassing 232 points together while Maharashtra team comprising Manav Ganesh Jadhao, Gaurav Rajkumar Pawar, Sharvil Rajendra Mave, and Aditya Sanjay Pujari gathered 227 for the silver medal.
Tamil Nadu's Midhun R, Madesh Vinay Arumugam, Siddhartha A, and Sakthi Vignesh R finished third to win a bronze medal in the event.
Jharkhand's Priya Mahali meanwhile claimed the girls' individual Indian Round gold by beating Shreya Asok Kesar of Maharashtra in the final shoot-off as Ningombam Linthoisana finished third to settle for the bronze medal.
The day also saw Vaishnavi Kumar Patil securing girls' Compound 50+50 m event gold with a total score of 681 points as Dristhti of Delhi (680 pts), and Sanchita Sudarshan Bimale of Maharashtra (680 pts) settled for the second and third places.
In the boys' Compound 50+50 m event, Manav Ganesh Jadhao of Maharashtra upstaged Mohit Dagar of Haryana to win the gold with better 'X' shots although they were locked at the same score of 708 points while Delhi's Aditya Mittal settled for the bronze.
Meanwhile, Vaishnavi Kumar Patil of Maharashtra, Trisha of Delhi, and Padma of Chhattisgarh made the top three finishes in the girls' individual Compound competition as Mohit Dagar of Haryana, Manav Ganesh Jadhao, and K Punanda Sharma of Manipur finished first, second, and third in the boys' individual Compound event.
Delhi girls Drishti, Trisha, Vaishnavi Gupta, and Chetna Yadav in the meantime claimed Compound team gold with a total score of 226 points as West Bengal team comprising Piu Roy, Bidisha Rai, and Tuhina Mondal settled for the silver medal on 220 points and Punjab team consisting of Apsara, Ojasvi Garg, Anhad Kaur, and Samaira Kaur gathered 218 points to finish with the bronze medal.
