State swimmers end campaign with 5 medals

Imphal, September 05 2023:
Manipur finished with five medals including two gold in the 3rd National Finswimming Championships 2023, which wrapped up at Pune, Maharashtra on Tuesday.
Soibam Gelison Singh set a new record with a timing of 0:52.99 sec on his way to the gold medal in the junior boys group D 100m bi-fins event on the third and final day of the competition.
Budhachandra Nongthombam, meanwhile, settled for the silver medal in the junior boys group B 100m bi-fins after clocking 0:54.94 sec.
With the Tuesday's results, Manipur closed out their campaign with two gold and three silver medals.
The state team consisted of 15 swimmers led by six officials.
Swimmers from over 30 states participated in the 3rd National Finswimming Championships 2023 hosted by the Under water Sports Association of Maharashtra at Swimming Complex, Shivchatrapati Kreeda Sankul, Mahalunge Bale wadi, Pune.
