2nd Haobam Biramangol Memorial Trophy 2024-25 : YUCC end RCA's four-game winning run with 13-run victory

YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel pulled off a 13-run victory against RCA, Lilong to seal their fourth Group A victory on the trot and end the four-game winning streak of the later team in the ongoing 2nd MNCA U-23 Men's Haobam Biramangol Memorial Trophy 2024-25 .
Despite the result at Khudeiband Lampak in Taothong, RCA are on top of the group table on 8 points from 5 matches above YUCC who have still two matches left to play.
YUCC got bundled out for 135 runs in 32.1 overs after electing to bat first but successfully defended their lowly total by dismissing RCA for 122 runs within 28 overs.

Laishram Rohit scored a slow but significant 93-ball 66 for YUCC in their innings that saw Zuned (3/30), Naesh Hussain (2/15) and Illiyas (2/16) sharing a bulk of 7 wickets for RCA.
In reply, RCA slumped to 122 all out despite Md Alfash's 45-ball 47 and Aziz Mirza's 35-ball 26 as Ningthoujam Sanjit (3/26 in 8 overs), Nongthombam Devaraj (3/26 in 8 overs) and Laishram Somraj (2/22 in 5 overs) ran riot across their line up for YUCC.
Ningthoujam Sanjit who played a key role in bundling out RCA was adjudged player of the match.
In another Group A match staged at Model Hr Secondary School and Oriental College, CRAU sealed a hardfought 6-run victory against Model Club, Singjamei.
CRAU rode on Thongam Joychandra's blitz of 74 runs off 36 balls (4 fours and 8 sixes) and Ph Jodash's 24-ball 33 to gather 200 runs for all wickets down in 26.3 overs and bowled out Model Club for 194 runs in 39.5 overs thanks to concerted efforts from Thongam Joychandra (3/23), Khumanthem Prakash (2/28) and K Sanatomba (2/24) .
Suson Yanglem enjoyed a five-for (5/25 in 7.3 overs) and Ningombam Bisal picked two wickets (2/31) for Model Club before Thoudam Deepak's 50-ball 50 and notable contributions from Irungbam Tonton 33 and Naorem Biyon 31 went in vain.
CRAU's Thongam Joychandra was adjudged player of the match.
Meanwhile at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, REYS, Khwai Nagamapal Lamabam Leikai ended Al-Ameen's 4-game winning run in the Group B competition by handing a 7-wicket defeat.
Toss winners Al-Ameen were bundled out for 81 runs in 25.4 overs as Kangujam Ringku (7/9 in 7.4 overs) and Naoshekpam Manglemba (2/35 in 8 overs) wreaked havoc across their line up before Sapam Bikash 35 off 41 and N Manglemba 28 off 38 took REYS to the target in 15.2 overs with 7 wickets left to spare.
Ringku was eventually adjudged player of the match.
In another Group B match, KASC, Khomidok beat ESU by 3 runs in a very close fight courtesy of Bm Irfan for the fourth win in five matches.
KASC opted to bat first but were dismissed for 91 runs in 21.4 overs as ESU's Hanjabam Naoba Sharma (3/24) and Soibam Sayonba (3/9) combined well to set up the collapse before Bm Irfan (6/24 in 7.5 overs) and Bm Afsar (2/21 in 8 overs) surpassed the ESU bowlers to bowl out ESU for 88 runs in 24.5 overs.
Bm Irfan who played a pivotal role in dismantling ESU line up was adjudged player of the match.
With the results, KASC climbed to second in the table below Al-Ameen on 8 points while REYS climbed to third on 6 points.
