Couple held with 24.69 kg cannabis

Imphal, March 23 2025: A joint team of Senapati police special operation, Senapati women police and CRPF arrested a husband-and-wife duo with 24.69 kg of cannabis during frisking-checking near Liangamai Taphou on NH-2 on Sunday.

The arrested duo has been identified as Kh Zaheer Khan (21) s/o Md Islamuddin of Golapati Mayai Leikai and his wife Hepuni Doveinai (19) .

According to a police report, the team on frisking-checking operation on Sunday apprehended the couple with the cannabis around 10.30 am.

Both persons and the seized items were handed over to Senapati PS for further legal action.
