Imphal, February 03 2016: The Manipur Electricity Employees' Union (MEEU) staged a sit-in-protest at MSPDCL (Secured office com- plex) AT Line today.

The protesters were demanding service regularization of Work Charge and Master Roll employees.

MEEU president Yumnam Ranapratap said that there are still 329 Work Charge and 38 Master Roll employees in MSPDCL.

The Government must not recruit fresh employees until Work Charge and Master Roll employees are regularised.

The union would continue its agitation until its demands are fulfilled, he said.Similar sit-in-protests were also staged at Moirang and Moreh.
