Paddy burnt

Imphal, November 27 2014:
Stacks of paddy piled up for harvesting at Challou Keimang agricultural fields near Itam river kutcha dam under Lamlai police station in Imphal East district were burnt by some unidentified miscreants at around 3 am yesterday.
The paddy stacks were collected from one sangam and three loushels and they belonged to one Elangbam Ibohal Meitei (75) of Challou Mayai Leikai, informed a police source.
By burning the paddy stacks, around 40 bags of paddy were reduced to ashes.
The approximate monetary value of the burnt paddy stacks is Rs 40,000 .
Due process of investigation has been initiated after an FIR was registered at Lamlai police station.
