UNLF accounts 'Op Araba'

The proscribed UNLF has claimed that the bomb attack at Koirengei and the Behiang ambush were carried out by its armed wing MPA as a part of their military operation code named Operation Araba.
The bomb attack which targeted the 165th Territorial Army, A Company at Koiren-gei at around 8.40 pm of November 3 was carried out by MPA.
Altogether two bombs were planted but one failed to go off.
The attack killed one Lance Naik Jagga while some others sustained injuries.
On November 11, another team of MPA attacked troops of 26th AR at Behiang under Singhat sub-division of Churachandpur district at around 11.20 am.
Two AR personnel were killed on the spot and three others
were wounded.
The two slain AR personnel were identified as Warrant Officer PK Sharma and Rifleman Ramcharan.
Two of the wounded personnel were Rifleman PK Sureshkumar and Rifleman Narayan Nuyulu, according to a press release issued by the outfit's director-in-charge M Sakhen.
A women bomb squad of the MPA also took active roles in the Behiang attack, it said.
The MPA then triggered a powerful bomb between Moreh and Minou on November 13 .
But the bomb could not hit its target (Indian military forces) .
Again on November 17 at around 7.10 am, MPA carried out a bomb attack at the Tengnoupal check-post of 24th AR.
After a gap of just 10 minutes, MPA triggered another bomb blast at a mobile check post of the same AR unit opened at Sita Lamkhai.
But the two blasts could not cause any casualty due to certain errors.
MPA carried out another bomb attack at a transit camp of Assam Rifles located at Minuthong at around 4.42 pm of November 18 but there was no casualty.
The successful launch of Operation Araba is a message to all the people that MPA has the capacity to strike Indian military forces in any corner of Manipur, it claimed while adding that the ongoing armed struggle would continue until the lost sovereignty of Manipur is restored.
