IEDs recovered

Imphal, November 27 2014:
Personnel of 25 AR recovered two IEDs under a culvert at Maharabi Chingjin along Imphal-Dimapur road under Sekmai Police Station.
According to a source, a Road Opening Party (ROP) of 24 AR posted at Motbung detected the first IED under the culvert around 6am today.
Not long after, the second IED was detected at the other end of the culvert.
Movement along the highway was halted for a while until the bomb disposal squad of the State police defused the explosives.
The two IEDs weighed around 1 kg each.
Security forces detailed to head for Red Shield Division headquarters, Leimakhong cancelled their trip for the day following the recovery as the area where the bombs were planted was on their route.
Besides the headquarters of IGAR (S) and BSF (Manipur and Nagaland) sector headquarters located along the highway, the route is frequented by security convoys.
