Food Processing Seminar inaugurated

'Food Processing is a fruitful employment generating scheme for the unemployed youths of Manipur, if they do it with strong determination' .
This was stated by Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency MLA Kh.
Joykishan while inaugurating a 2-day seminar on Food Preservation and processing for the educated unemployed youths of Manipur organised by Rama Foundation, Nagamapal under the National Mission on Food Processing, Directorate of Commerce and Industries, Government of Manipur on Thursday at the Ema Eraileima Mini Stadium cum community Hall at Lalambung Makhong Imphal.
MLA Joykishan, who graced the inaugural function as chief guest, said that Food Processing industries like the 'Soibum' and 'Ngari' manufacturing have the potential for improving the economy of the state.
It must be done through cooperative societies, he added.
Assuring his possible help for the cooperative societies dealing in food processing units, Joykishan told the gathering that we should not depend only on the government.
A Loken, Extension Officer FPL, Government of Manipur; Y Lokendro, ACDO, Commerce and Industries, Manipur; Sanyaola K Raman, Programme Coordinator, KVK Imphal; and Th Dinokumar, Branch manager of ICICI Bank Keisampat attended as Guests of Honour of the programme which was presided over by N.Iboton Singh, Head of Department, Plant Pathology, CAU.
