IMC polls: DEO sets traffic arrangement

In order to regulate movement of traffic on the day of dispersal of polling parties on June 1 and return of polling parties after completion of poll on June 2 in connection with the ensuing Imphal Municipal Corporation Election, 2016, District Election Officer of Imphal West has made certain arrangements.
Accordingly, on June 1 (from 7.00 am onwards) all vehicles belonging to Election Observer, his escorts and Liaison Officer, DC/DMEO, Officers and Officials of State Election Commission, officers and officials of Police Department, ADM, SDO (RO), SDOs, AC to DC, BO (Election), SR(HQ), SDCs, external and internal electricity team and medical team shall be parked inside the office complex of DC office, Lamphelpat.
All vehicles belonging to the officers/officials detailed on election duty with the DC/DEO, SDO/RO shall be parked in the office complex of Excise Department, Lamphel.
All vehicles belonging to the polling personnel shall be parked at the office complex of the Registrar, Co-operative Society.
On June 2 (from 3 pm onwards) vehicles transporting polling personnel and polled materials shall halt at the Main Gate (Southern gate) of DC office.
The polling personnel shall alight at the main gate.
Thereafter the vehicles shall proceed towards Mohon Motors Workshop and follow the route that leads to Uripok Kangchup Road through Thoudam Leirak.
Those who park their vehicles at various parking sites (except those inside the office complex of DC office, Lamphelpat) shall take their vehicles out from the parking sites after completion of the election duty positively.
Further, all vehicles coming towards DC office from Laishram Leirak and RIMS shall be regulated at Laishram Leirak Machin at Uripok Kangchup Road junction.
The route leading from RIMS Ring Road towards DC office, Imphal West shall be restricted at the meeting point of NG College by-lane and the ring road near the gate of Directorate of Commerce and Industries, Lamphelpat.
The route from Langol Games Village towards DC office shall be regulated at the meeting point of Chingangbam Leirak/Mohon Motors with the ring road near the north western corner of CRPF Camp.
The route coming from the direction of Minor Irrigation Office towards DC office shall be restricted at the gate of the Family Court Complex at Lamphelpat.
At the same time, DM, Imphal West has also ordered that gun licenses issued by DM, Imphal West be deposited to the concerned PS on or before May 31 .
