The Association of Contractual Staff of ICDS-Mission 2016 Batch has urged the Government to declare the long-delayed results of the Special DPC for contractual employees held on December 31, 2021 .
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, M Rameshchandra, general secretary, Association of Contractual Staff of ICDS-Mission 2016 Batch shared that 133 employees were recruited by the Social Welfare Department on contractual basis under ICDS Mission in 2016 for one year.
After working for one year, their engagement period was extended by two months and their service was officially discontinued thereafter.
On January 11, 2019, the Department issued a notice for recruitment of contractual staff for Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK), Pradhan Mantri Mudra Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) and Poshan Abhiyan scheme.
The Association then filed a petition in the High Court of Manipur with regard to the notice, informed the general secretary.
The Court then directed the Department to consider the 133 contractual staff for the posts by holding a Special DPC.
As per the Court's instruction, a Special DPC was held on March 16 and 18 of 2020, which was later cancelled according to a notification issued on October 5, 2021 .
On November 20, 2021, the Social Welfare Department notified that the Special DPC will be reconducted and it was subsequently held on December 31, 2021 .
As the result of the Special DPC was delayed for a prolonged period, M Rameshchandra said that the Association approached the-then Chief Minister N Biren Singh, who assured them that the result will be declared after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Unfortunately, the Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) scheme was discontinued during this period.
Following this, the Association filed a contempt case in the High Court of Manipur.
In their response, the Department repeatedly said that they are trying to declare the results.
In consideration of the grievances of the contractual staff, M Rameshchandra has urged the Government to declare the results of the Special DPC at the earliest.
