Political conference of BJP held at NIDSU Ground
Cong dared to furnish evidences against Govt

Imphal, March 28 2019: Chief Minister N Biren has challenged Congress party that he would resign if the rival party can prove otherwise what the BJP-led Government has declared accomplished.

He was speaking at a political conference held at NIDSU Ground, Luwangshangbam under the aegis of BJP Heingang Mandal.

Rather than telling lies and falsehoods to the masses, politicians and political parties may challenge each other on works which are visible, Biren asserted.

"If anybody can prove or pinpoint that works declared completed by the BJP-led Government are incomplete or undone, I would resign from the Government the very next day", he challenged rival Congress party.

Congress party did nothing for the development of Imphal-Jiribam road during their long 15 years rule.

They did not lay foundation for a single bridge nor did they sanction even one rupee, said the Chief Minister.

Half of truck wheels were buried in mud when they moved on Imphal-Jiribam highway a few years back but today the highway has been transformed into a very smooth one.

Moreover, construction of two bridges has been completed by 50 per cent, he said.

There are no more bandhs and blockades.

There is complete harmony between hill people and plain people now.

These days, one can see a united picture of Manipur, Biren asserted.

When they were in power, Congress party overlooked the fact that no Government can survive people's support and they focused all their attention on contract works.

Manipur was in a state of anarchy when Congress party was ruling the State but there is peace now and the State's law and order situation has improved remarkably, Biren continued.

He remarked that AICC president Rahul Gandhi's visit to Imphal proved to be a plus point to BJP for Congress party broke apart soon after his visit.

The departure of Congress leaders from the party was accompanied by a large number of their supporters, he said.

Saying that the State Government has been undertaking a number of anti-drug campaigns, Biren added that it would carry on the campaigns further.

The anti-drug campaigns would not discriminate political parties, he added.

Whereas the previous Government transferred a police officer for seizing drugs, the incumbent Government conferred gallantry awards to police officers who were able to seize large quantities of drugs, Biren asserted and pledged that his Government would deliver justice to the masses.

Six women markets have been constructed and inaugurated at hill district headquarters.

Even though Congress party which has been championing the causes of minority communities never bothered to construct a market at Lilong but the BJP-led Government has started construction of a market complex at Lilong.

The State's education system has been amended and economically backward families have been benefited, Biren claimed.

He hailed BJP candidate in Inner Manipur PC Dr RK Ranjan as a social activist and environmentalist who is capable of cordial relationship between hill people and plain people.

Appealing to all the people to elect the two BJP candidates so that Narendra Modi returns as the country's Prime Minister for a second term, Biren asserted that Manipur would not suffer if the people elect the right candidates and choose the right political party.

BJP MLA S Rajen said that ex-Chief Minister O Ibobi, ex-Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and Congress candidate O Nabakishore are all involved in a CBI case.

It would severely blemish the prestige of Manipur if a man against whom an FIR has been registered is elected to the Lok Sabha, he said.

RK Ranjan said that he is contesting the Lok Sabha election to station himself at Delhi and assist Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Biren in their development works.

BJP State unit president and Rajya Sabha MP K Bhabananda appealed to all the people to support the two BJP workers who have been given party tickets.

Saying that Congress party has no one among its workers who can contest the Lok Sabha election, Bhabananda appealed to all the people to study how Congress tickets were given to the two individuals who are fighting the election as Congress candidates.

Congress party is destined to lose the Lok Sabha election again, he added.
