FSDO assures to tackle marketing issues

The Federation of Skill Development Organisation (FSDO) has volunteered to find adequate markets for all agricultural and horticultural produces produced by the people of Manipur.
This was stated by FSDO Chairman Anil Holsamudrakar during a workshop held at Singjamei Heirangoithong 'Skilling India to build India' .
Anil Holsamudrakar, MLA Th Bishwajit, FSDO Managing Director Anuj Narad, BJP Mahila Morcha vice-president A Sarda, BJP Manipur Pradesh Mahila Morcha member RK Pramodini and Singjamei BJP Mandal H Joykumar attended the inaugural session as presidium members.
Although Manipur being a gateway for India has all the potential to be highly developed it is still languishing in underdevelopment.
FSDO has the capacity to enhance people's workmanship and skill in different vocations as to bring about rapid development in Manipur, Anil Holsamudrakar stated.
He then called upon the people of Manipur to be industrious and also to join hands with the Government as well as FSDO.
FSDO North East regional coordinator Dr M Binod claimed that FSDO has been working to impart modern training to artisans and skilled workers in different trades.
He claimed that all arrangements have been made for international trade with South Asian countries in such sectors as medicinal plants, horticultural produces and craft products.
Around 53 per cent of the country's graduates are still unemployed.
It is hoped that the Skill India Mission which is a flagship programme initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi can reduce the unemployment rate by training unemployed people in different fields.
The programme would go a long way in promoting self-employment and financial independence among youth including women, Binod said.
A Sarda too exuded confidence that the Prime Minister's initiative to enhance people's skill in different fields would be quite beneficial to the State.
People of the State are naturally skilful and extra training would make them highly accomplished in their different trades.
Had the Government authorities implemented different projects and schemes according to rules and guidelines, Manipur would not have been so backward, she rued.
Nonetheless, she highlighted the State's rich potential in tourism sector.
Prof Rajendra Kshetri underscored the importance of skill development for economic well being of the State.
Cultivating a vibrant work culture and ensuring that all benefits of development projects and welfare schemes reach the public in time can certainly put the State on a higher trajectory of development.
The workshop was organised under different schemes like National Education Qualification Framework (NEQF), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY), Skill Development Initiatives (SDI) and the National Skill Development Scheme (NSDC) .
