The proposed sustained shutdown announced earlier to begin from August 11 morning by civil society organizations of Kangpokpi district has been postponed to August 13 upon receiving positive response from the State Government in connec-tion with their demand .
The decision to postpone the proposed sustained shutdown in Kangpokpi district was taken in a joint meeting of all Kangpokpi CSOs at Kangpokpi DHQs this afternoon .
Thangminlen Kipgen, president of KSO, Sadar Hills said, "Finally we have received positive response towards finding an amicable solution from the State Government regarding the dispute over Haraothel land and decided to postpone the proposed sustained shutdown on August 13 after threadbare discussion of the matter today in our joint meeting."
He continued that the initial stage of understanding was reached after the State Government promised to hold talks with the concerned stakeholders before 3 pm of August 12 .
While expressing his optimism of coming to an amicable solution, the KSO Sadar Hills president categorically warned that the neglect of the assurance would lead to a district administration breakdown and urged the concerned public of the district to be ever ready for the consequence of a betrayal from the State Government .
The CSOs Kangpokpi had earlier decided to impose sustained total shutdown in the entire Kangpokpi District from 6 am of August 11 over the alleged negligence and non response towards its demand and humble repeated appeals to the State Government.
