Imphal, April 26 2025:
JAC against the custodial death of Khoisnam Sanajaoba Singh has rejected the post-mortem report that stated the cause of death as cardiac arrest and classified his death as natural.
In a release, the JAC stated that, according to the member who was present during the post-mortem, the report failed to mention the cause of blood accumulation in Sanajaoba's heart and the defect in his lungs.
Therefore, the JAC deemed the post-mortem report to be fabricated, it added.
On the day of his death, the victim's family, despite restrictions, secretly took photographs showing bruises on his back.
However, the post-mortem report claimed there were no bruises on the body, causing confusion.
The examination record issued by the doctor on the casualty ticket clearly stated that the body showed no vital signs upon arrival at the hospital.
Therefore, the release urged that a fresh post-mortem examination be conducted and samples sent to a medical institute outside the state.
Moreover, the release appreciated the public for supporting general strike launched by the JAC and urged to support further protests launched by the JAC .
