The All Manipur Catholic Union (AMCU) has also mourned the demise of Pope Francis.
"AMCU joins the 1.4 billion Catholics around the world in mourning the demise of the Holy Father Pope Francis who passed away on the morning of Easter Monday, the 21st April 2025 (CET)," AMCU said in a statement.
Saying that the Catholic faithful of Manipur will miss the 'outstanding modern Pope' who always worked to amalgamate the progressive modern society with the Catholic Church, AMCU maintained that Pope Francis is known for his humility and deep compassion for the poor.
The Catholic faithfuls of Manipur, under the banner of AMCU, pray for his eternal rest and that his successor will carry forward the legacy of the Universal Church, it said.
