Sit-in-Protest against Naga Peace Accord at Thoubal Keithel

Thoubal, August 11 2018: Vendor Women and Students of Thoubal area in collaboration with different organisations of Thoubal District staged a sit-in-protest against Naga peace accord at Thoubal keithel today.

The sit-in-protest was jointly organised by United People's Front (UPF) Thoubal Distrcit Council, All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) Thoubal Distrcit, Thoubal IMA and Thoubal Keithel Apunba Ima Lup.

Speaking to media persons W.Second President of UPF Manipur said that the Framework Agreement signed between NSCN (IM) and Government of India on 3rd of August 2015 creates anxiety and fear psychosis among the people.

If article 371 (A) is expanded to Naga inhabited area then it may hinder the administration, territorial integrity and boundary of Manipur.

State government should bring a firm decision in the upcoming state Assembly session for a peaceful Manipur.

He said that the Manipur state assembly must take up an unanimous resolution during Special session most likely to be convened on 16 of August that similar provision(s) of article 371 (A) can never be extended under any circumstances to the so call Naga inhabited area of Manipur.
