Women volunteers of Rongmei Lu Phuam (RLP) faced a tough time in stopping further clash at Sitheilong (Leishok) village after the gun battle that broke out between ZUF and NSCN (IM) cadres in the evening of October 7 .
According to a press release, people of Khoupum valley, especially in Zeliangrong areas, are gripped with a fear psychosis after the violent incident that killed six persons injuring five others.
It added that womenfolk numbering around 2000 escorted both the parties to far away places to avoid possible encounter.
Later, women belonging to Leishok, Taosang, Nungsang retrieved the dead bodies from the spot and brought them to Noney.
Deploring the incident, RLP, Khoupum took out a procession from Gaidimjang to the dam site and returned to Gaidimjang via Thhangagong, Daithaojang and Gatao villages.
RLP Khoupum valley and RLP Khoupum also urged the Central and State Governments to put in all possible efforts to bring tranquility.
PNTM condemns : Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me (PNTM) has also strongly condemned the armed clash between two insurgent groups.
Saying that process in Naga reconciliation is in progress to bring peace and harmony among Nagas, a PNTM press release said that killings would never bring any solution.
The association also urged all the organisations to resolve the misunderstandings.
PNTM also conveyed deepest condolence to the deceased persons and the shared grief of the bereaved family members.
It also wished for speedy recovery of injured persons.
Soubunglong Village Authority, Women Society, Youth Club and all villagers also condemned the incident.
The bodies also urged all the groups not to repeat the same in future.
