NPO appeals for restrain and reconciliation

Imphal, October 10 2011:
The Naga People's Organisation (NPO) in a press release condemning the shoot out between ZUF/ZTF and NSCN-IM near Taosang and Leishok Village which resulted in the death of 5 cadres of the later and one civilian driver stated that "Any attempt by any Naga revolutionary group to jeopardize and disturb the ongoing Naga reconciliation process at the backdrop of positive Indo-Naga peace talk is unacceptable and detrimental to peaceful solution".
Stating that it is against any escalation of the present situation, NPO appealed for immediate end of offensive from both the camps.
Expressing its anguish over such violent action against brothers, NPO pointed out that such incidents will have "serious impact over the noble efforts of FNR to reconcile all Naga factional groups to achieve peaceful resolution to the Naga issue" .
While appealing to exercise maximum restraint, The NPO asked the groups to avail every possibilities opportunity to negotiate an end to all further bloodshed.
