To bring a social revolution in Manipur, womenfolk of the State need to unite and work together, stated Trinamool Congress State unit president and former MP Kim Gangte.
A loan distribution function of SBI Canchipur to Self Help Groups was held today at Huidrom Leikai under the aegis of Keishamthong Kendra Women and Child Development Forum.
Loans of Rs 75,000 were given to each SHG during the function held under the guidance of RK Shivchandra who is preparing to contest the Assembly elections under Trinamool Congress ticket.
Speaking at the occasion, Kim Gangte said that change and development can be realised only when women are economically independent.
She further called upon all womenfolk to work together in unity.
RK Shivchandra said that the SHGs would get loans of Rs 2.60 lakhs per group if they pay back the loan amounts in time.
