Naga Women's Union (NWU) deplores Oct 7 clash

The Naga Women's Union (NWU) has expressed deep concern over the unfortunate incident that October 7 incident in which 5 NSCN(IM) and one civilian were killed on the spot.
In a statement NWU general secretary LM Tabitha said that a fierce encounter took place between the cadres of NSCN (IM) and the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF armed wing Zeliangrong Tiger Force (ZTF) at Soubungluang (Laishok) under Khoupum Police Station of Tamenglong District on October 7 killing five NSCN (IM) cadres and one civilian and injuring as many as five others was a matter of grave concern on the back drop of the ongoing Naga reconciliation, the statements added.
Such random gunfight, often taking place amongst the Naga brethrens due to some ideological difference may lead the Naga family to nowhere but only dooms day, so it is the right time to retrospect our mistakes and come together as one people one destination the release stated.
Further, NWU appealed to all the Naga National workers irrespective of different groups or factions to come to an understanding and reconciliation and to voice out their grievances if any to the fore-runner of peace instead of taking matters into their own hands and thereby bringing more bloodshed amongst brothers.
Meanwhile, NWU condoles and shares the sorrow and grief of the bereaved families of October 7th incidents and pray that no such dreadful confrontation happen again in the coming future.
