Imphal, April 22 2025: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has extended his regards to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Khongjom Day.

The Governor, in a message, said that Khongjom Day (observed every year on April 23) is a tribute to the indomitable courage and supreme sacrifices of 'our forefathers who laid down their lives for the freedom of our motherland' .

Their unwavering patriotism and fearless resistance against one of the world's mightiest powers remain a source of inspiration for generations, he said.

He appealed to the people to renew their commitment to safeguard the Nation's sovereignty and unity.

Singjamei MLA Y Khemchand also paid his homage to all the freedom fighters of Manipur who sacrificed their lives in the Khongjom War.

In his Khongjom Day message, the MLA appealed to all to recall the true spirit of protecting and defending the territorial integrity of Manipur.
