MLA presents right narrative to Centre

Sagolband AC MLA, Raj Kumar Imo has written to the Union Home Minister seeking measures against foreign based organisations with separatist agenda whose hands are evident in the Manipur crisis.
In a letter addressed to the Union Home Minister, RK Imo noted that Manipur has witnessed a few positive steps undertaken by the Ministry of Home Affairs including the immediate decision to send a CBI team to the State to oversee the alleged murder case of two young students.
The CBI team managed to arrest the accused persons from Churachandpur in a matter of few days.
Not only this, one person from Churachandpur has also been arrested by NIA for terror, having influence of foreign militant groups based in Myanmar, and involved in waging war against the Government, by means of financing and supplying arms and ammunition in the present conflict, he noted.
The people of Manipur are indeed pleased with few of these measures and it is hoped that maximum punishment will be given to the perpetrators and stringent measures will be taken up against all insurgent groups which have violated the "Ground Rules" and are involved in violence in the State with the help of foreign militant outfits.
It is now a well known fact that foreign terror groups are involved in creating instability and prolonging the conflict in Manipur thereby giving a bad image to the State.
Further, there has been a news report recently of the Canada Chapter head of North American Manipur Tribal Association, Lien Gangte allegedly having links with terror groups in Canada which are trying to destroy the fundamentals of the country, he wrote.
Lien Gangte had given a speech in the Gurudwara whose chief and Khalitani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead by unknown people.
Gangte not only condemned what was happening in Manipur but also sought help from them by using the platform for separatist agenda.
As such, the Home Ministry must have already started the investigation regarding these links, he wrote.
RK Imo also requested the office of the Home Minister to bring a logical conclusion to the matter by initiating a strong legal action against all people/organisations involved in spreading terror in the country, and using international platforms to propagate the separatist agenda with the help of other terror groups.
He also went on to thank the Home Minister for extending the date for detection of illegal immigrants upto March 2024 .
However, there is an apprehension that people entering India through Mizoram side of the Indo-Myanmar border be checked as the Mizoram Government has recently declined to collect biometric data of the immigrants/refugees from Myanmar.
It is a very serious issue and could change the whole demography of the region, he said while requesting the Indo-Myanmar border in Mizoram be fully fenced as to be done in Manipur, he said.
Effective border fencing will help control influx of illegal immigrants and would serve as a major stepping stone to protect all the indigenous people in the region.
It will also further strengthen the internal security of the country, the Sagolband AC MLA continued.
