Imphal, September 01 2025:
The People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) has mourned the demise of its Red Army cadre Nong-thombam Malemnganba, alias Thonglen, during an intense encounter on Aug 30 at Myanmar border.
A press release issued by PREPAK's publicity officer Mangal Khuman said that Malemnganba alias Thonglen (27), son of late Nongthombam Shyamkeshor Meitei and Nongthombam ongbi Nongngallei Leima of Awang Wabagai, was the youngest of four siblings.
The outfit said that Malemnganba laid down his life for the motherland on August 30, 2025, at around 11.49 am during a fierce encounter in the border region of Kangleipak (Manipur) and Myanmar with a combined force of the Indian Army's special forces, KNA-B and their affiliated militant groups who used a high-tech drone to launch an attack against them.
It further claimed that Indian security forces along with their proxy KNA-B and allied groups, conducted a coordinated attack using sophisticated weaponry and drone bombing.
The outfit stated that Malemnganba succumbed to bullet injuries after evacuating a fellow Red Army cadre who was shot and injured.
It added that Malemnganba joined PREPAK, driven by the trauma of witnessing the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Meeteis by Kuki narco-terrorists.
Malemnganba was highly disciplined, determined, courageous in facing challenges, respectful of elders, dedicated to his responsibilities, and a committed revolutionary who tirelessly worked for the organization's cause, PREPAK said.
The outfit added that Malemnganba fulfilled his duty as a revolutionary until his last breath.
Describing his demise as an irreparable loss to both the outfit and its armed wing, the Red Army, the outfit paid tribute to the slain cadre.
The outfit also extended its condolences to the bereaved family.
