Assam Rifles medical team of Keithelmanbi Unit Hospital, Imphal West district, on Sunday reportedly provided life-saving medical aid to a woman from Moidangpok village.
According to PRO IGAR (S), Bembem (45) was working in the fields, when she was bitten by a venomous snake and rushed to the Unit Hospital in a conscious but rapidly deteriorating condition.
She exhibited clear signs of envenomation, including low vital parameters and systemic distress.
Upon arrival, the medical team at Keithelmanbi administered anti-venom without delay, consequently stabilising her vitals.
The team's swift and coordinated efforts led to a marked improvement in her condition within hours, said the PRO, adding that following a thorough medical evaluation and essential treatment, Bembem was discharged in a stable state and referred to RIMS for further observation and care.
Her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Assam Rifles for their prompt response, professional expertise, and humane approach'that averted a potentially fatal outcome, said the PRO in a release.
Assam Rifles also provided urgent medical aid to one Mangcha Kipgen (35) years of Haibung village in Kangpokpi district, who was rushed to the medical inspection room at Assam Rifles camp, Kotlen, complaining of severe headache, vomiting, and dizziness on August 10 night.
The medical staff carried out thorough medical examination and promptly administered requisite treatment.
The treatment alleviated his condition and later on discharged after his condition stabilised.
The local community expressed their sincere gratitude to Assam Rifles for their prompt assistance and unwavering commitment to public welfare.
