Uripok bodies criticise Ex-Dy CM's X post

Imphal, April 02 2025: Uripok Apunba Lup and Uripok Apunba Nupi Lup have stated that National People's Party (NPP) state president Yumnam Joykumar must own up his mistake in misinterpreting village volunteers, and demanded clarification on the same at the earliest.

Uripok Apunba Lup general secretary Samom Dhurba told media persons during a press conference on Wednesday that Yumnam Joykumar uploaded a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account at 8.41 pm Tuesday, which totally disregarded the Meetei community and society, terming the post as very unfortunate.

Dhurba conveyed that Uripok Apunba Lup and Uripok Apunba Nupi Lup strongly condemn Joykumar's post and demand swift clarification.

"There is no harm when Joykumar made political statements and blame other political parties but making irresponsible remark against village volunteers defending territorial integrity of Manipur with their lives at risk cannot be accepted," Samom Dhurba said, adding that Joykumar's anti-Meetei remark has infuriated the people.
