Imphal, April 02 2025: Teachers of Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) felicitated newly appointed vice-chancellor of Dhanmanjuri University Prof W Chandbabu Singh, as he formally assumed charged on Wednesday.

Prior to his appointment as the DMU vice-chancellor, Prof Chandbabu served as registrar of Manipur University.

It may be mentioned here that student bodies had been launching agitations in pursuance of their demand for appointment of a regular vice-chancellor of the University.

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) state secretary Gautam Philem and other karyakartas of DMU also extended warm welcome to Prof W Chandbabu, who assumed charge as the new VC of the University.

In a release, ABVP State Office secretary Laishram Napoleon informed that the AVBP team met Prof Chanbabu on Wednesday and expressed firm belief that the new VC would help bring about huge changes to the University, with focus on quality education, research, academic standard, infrastructural development and welfare of the students while strengthening the academic environment and administration of DMU.

AVBP would extend all possible help in improving the faculty resources and streamlining administrative processes, the release conveyed.
