Imphal, April 21 2025: Police on Saturday rescued four individuals, including three women, who were allegedly confined in a house in Langol Laimanai over an elopement issue while three persons identified as Thangjam Basanti Leima (50) of Thongjao Mayai Leikai, Waikhom Geeta Devi (36) of Changangei, and Kangabam Sundari Devi (57) of Changangei Uchekon have been arrested in connection with the case.

According to a statement from the police control room, the latter trio - Jed by Basanti Leima - demanded Rs 5 lakh from one of the victims regarding an elopement matter.

According to the police, the three confessed of being members of a group called Amour of Manipur (AMO) .

The accused were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West on Monday, and remanded to judicial custody.
