Thoubal, July 28 2025:
Describing as unfortunate allegations levelled by certain individuals, Education Guide Centre (EGC) clarified that it has not encroached on any land or attempted to ob tain patta (land document) illegally, even as it works to demarcate its boundary and implement a water supply scheme at Thoubal Moijing.
Speaking to the media after a public meeting at Moijing GP Panchayat Ghar on Sunday, EGC general secretary Md Shahabuddin informed that the meeting resolved to put on hold the reformation process of EGC's executive members until the boundary demarcation of Patta No 1674, belonging to EGC in Moijing Khongkok, is completed.
He further said that the meeting strongly condemned the forced construction for a water supply scheme on the said patta land without proper boundary demarcation, in violation of a meeting resolution adopted on January 7 .
The action, allegedly carried out by certain vested interest individuals, was deemed unacceptable.
The meeting also denounced the attempt to tarnish EGC's image during a gathering held on July 25 at Meena Bazar, where misleading information was allegedly shared.
It was unanimously decided that a public meeting would be organised soon to present the facts and clarify the Centre's position.
Shahabuddin informed that the meeting resolved to allow time until August 1 to facilitate reconciliation process between the two parties, as suggested by Moijing GP chairperson Md Ayub Khan.
He also alleged that some vested interest individuals are trying to portray EGC as anti-people and called for an immediate end to such actions.
Appealing to the public, he urged support for the efforts of ECG, which he said are aimed solely at public welfare.
EGC president MM Abdur Rajaque was also present during the press briefing.
