His discourse on "Geo-Political Developments in Myanmar & Its Impact on the Indo-Myanmar Border, with Special Reference to Manipur" offered a nuanced analysis of evolving dynamics in the region and their implications for border security and socio-political stability.
The event was conducted under the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between Assam Rifles and Manipur University in 2021, which continues to serve as a platform for joint research and dialogue on regional security and socio-cultural issues in North East India.
According to PRO IGAR (S), over the past four years, the partnership has enabled meaningful deliberations and knowledge exchange between academia and security forces.
Among the attendees were MU vice chancellor professor N Lo-kendra Singh, security advisor to the government of Manipur Kuldiep Singh, retired lieutenant general Dr K Himalaya Singh, Inspector General of Assam Rifles Major general Ravroop Singh and a combined presence of troops and officials from Assam Rifles, Indian Army, central security forces, police and civil administration.
The audience also consisted over 230 participants, including faculty, students from Manipur University and DM College, media professionals and members of the intelligentsia.
To ensure broader outreach, the session was live-streamed to 100 outstation headquarters and institutions, the PRO informed.
Following the presentation, an engaging round of discussions unfolded, marked by thoughtful introspection and collaborative exploration of potential pathways to enhance regional stability.
Participants expressed deep appreciation for the initiative and voiced strong interest in future engagements of similar intellectual depth and relevance, the PRO added.
