Governor inaugurates hostel, quarters

Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla inau- gurated a 120-bedded girls' hostel and Type-IV staff quarters at Central Agricultural University (CAU), Iroishemba, Imphal today.
CAU Imphal Vice Chancellor Dr Anupam Mishra, Instruction Director Professor Indira Sarangthem, Research Director Dr LM Garnayak, Registrar Dr TR Sharma and students of the University attended the event.
At the CAU complex, the Governor also inspected various facilities and farming systems.
Later, the Governor visited College of Food Technology, Lamphelpat and inspected the Biofloc Unit and Food Processing Pilot Plant.
The Governor distributed food processing equipment to internally displaced persons, and encouraged them to utilize the knowledge they gained from various training programmes at CAU to further develop their skills in food processing and become entrepreneurs.
The Governor inaugurated a Tulsi flavoured water manufacturing unit and a mechanised unit for making fermented soybeans (hawaizar).
He also inspected stalls at "Technology and Machinery Demonstration Mela 2024-25, an exhibition organised by the College of Food Technology.
He interacted with students and officials.
