Addressing the gathering, Sunil Ambekar said that the RSS, founded by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in 1925 at Nagpur, has now completed 100 years this Vijayadashami Utsav.
Over the decades, curiosity and eagerness to know about the RSS and its activities have grown steadily, he noted.
He recalled that during the Swadhinta Mahotsav, the present Sarsanghchalak.
Dr Mohan Bhagwat, was invited as chief guest by students of Dhanawate National College (formerly Neel City School), the same institution from which Dr Hedgewar was expelled for singing "Vande Mataram".
"Dr Hedgewar started the RSS while participating in the freedom struggle, with the dream of uniting Hindus and building a strong and united Bharat," Ambekar said.
He further emphasised that the Sangh activities have increased manifold since its inception and have expanded organically - without hype or propaganda - through personal contact (sampark) and direct engagement with people.
Many groups and individuals, inspired by the Sangh's work, have also voluntarily joined the Nation-building process, he added.
Highlighting the significance of the Sangh Centenary, Ambekar said the RSS has set the vision of Pancha Parivartan (five transformations) to guide its future course.
The book release function was attended by eminent journalists, senior RSS and social leaders.
