Imphal, October 01: Having made necessary preparation for the success of the party in the Lok Sabha election slated to held next year, Congress party has already started campaigning for the election.

As part of the campaign, Nambol Block Youth Congress Committee today organised a one-day block level youth Congress political convention at the Nambol Congress Bhavan located at Nambol Chingmang.

Agriculture Minister L Loken and president of Nambol Block Youth Congress Committee Th Ishwarchand Singh were respectively chief guest and functional president of the convention which was also attended by MLA of Thanga A/C T Mangibabu, MPYCC president L Tilotama Devi, BDCC president W Maipak, NBCC president W Bhagirath Singh and Chairman of Public Undertaking Committee of Manipur Legislative Assembly M Manindra as guests of honour.

In his address as chief guest of the function, Minister N Loken asserted that the people of Manipur are today well aware of the fact that with exception to ruling Congress party and its allies, all the other political parties in the State have been floated by the seek-seekers not in the interest of the people but to fulfil their own vested interest.

A glaring example of this fact is that apart from Congess and its allies no other political parties came out to help the flood affected people during the recent deluge in the State.

The Minister further said that implementation of the Right to Information all over India shows that the Congress led Government believes in transparency.

Otherwise, Congress party would not have enacted such an Act, he added, while appealing to the people for their continued support to the Congress party for further development of the State in all fronts.

Speaking on the issue of territorial integrity of Manipur, Loken reiterated that the ruling Congress-led Governments both at the Centre and the State would never compromise on the issue of territorial integrity of Manipur.

The Government has also made its stand very clear on the issue in its Common Minimum Programme, the Minister said.

All others who spoke at the occasion also touched on the activities to be taken up by Congress party in future.

Oinam Block Youth Congress Committee also organised a similar one-day block level youth Congress political convention at Nambol today.
