LLTTSS submits charter of demands to President

Langol Lukhoi Thang-Ta Sindam Shang (LLTTSS) on Monday submitted a 7-point charter of demands addressed to the President of India, the prime minister and the union home minister through the deputy commissioner concerned and urged for the demands to be put into action at the earliest: According to the press release issued by LLTTSS president Laishram Ibomcha Khuman, the charter of demands included appointment of an international arbitrator so as to rectify the Manipur Merger Agreement, 1949 and Instrument of Accession, 1947 in view of Indian constitution, 1950 and Manipur Constitution, 1947 as per para No 2 of agreement section of Instrument of Accession, 1947; grant autonomy to state for recruitment of state forces for maintaining law and order in Manipur; autonomy for regulation of illegal migrants and foreigners so as to protect the Manipuri population; autonomy for protection of territorial boundary of Manipur by the state forces; repeal AFSPA 1958 from Manipur; grant adequate compensation for failure to enforce Articles 19(d) and 21 of the Constitution of India in connection with the Manipur riots; and to grant special fund and protection for pilgrimage to followers of both Hindu and Sanamahi religions to holy sites across the country.
