Two thrashed, villagers demand justice

Thoubal, April 16 2025: Two youths from Langathel, who had gone for 'Thabal Chongba' at Heirok Heituppokpi on April 14, were found beaten and left to die.

In connection with the incident, Langathel villagers have appealed to CSOs and meira paibi groups of Heirok to extend support in tracing and punishing those involved in the case.

The two assaulted and undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity are Nepram Surjakanta (27), son of N Robin and Okram Robot (27), son of O Debananda, both from Langathel Mamang Leikai.

Addressing the media at Langathel Yumjaomanbi hill on Wednesday, one Mayengbam Ibemcha claimed that the two youths were violently attacked by some people from Heirok and were left to die on April 14 .

Fortunately, both were found by locals who rushed them to a hospital, she added.

Ibemcha cautioned that in case the culprits are not punished then the people of Langathel might resort to own course of action and urged CSOs and meira paibi of Heirok to extend cooperation for peaceful settlement of the matter.
