Prof Angam put in charge of CMC

Imphal, March 28 2025: Prof Gangmei Angam of JNIMS forensic medicine has been appointed as the administrator of Churachandpur Medical College (CMC) until a new director is appointed.

He will take on this additional role without any extra remuneration, while continuing his duties at JNIMS, said an order issued by commissioner cum secretary (H&FW) on Friday.

The order said that as administrator, Prof Angam has been granted full administrative, academic, and financial powers equivalent to the director of CMC .

He will oversee both the Imphal and Churachandpur campuses and will be responsible for providing medical education to displaced students from RIMS, JNIMS, and SAHS at CMC .

Additionally, Prof Gangmei Angam's services as professor of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology will be utilised at CMC, but his salary and allowances Will be drawn from his substantive post at JNIMS .

The appointment was approved by the Governor in Council during a meeting held on March 25 .
