A day-long awareness programme on violence against women was jointly organised by Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) and Anouba Mangal VLF Pangantabi under the Manipur State Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) at Pangantabi Makha Leikai community hall, Kakching district.

In his address, CADA president Priyokumar expressed concern over the declining work culture in the state.
He also highlighted the significant role played by women activists since the time the erstwhile Manipur kingdom faced artificial shortage of rice due to export of the same.
He further stated that drug use is a major contributing factor to the crimes and social issues prevalent in the state.
According to him; most acts of violence against women are linked to drug abuse.
Therefore, in order to reduce crime and violence against women, it is essential for every locality to effectively prohibit the use, sale and purchase of drugs.
