Imphal, April 16 2025: As part of the 7th anniversary celebration of Ayushman Bharat - Health and Wellness Centre (AB-HWC), Khongjom Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Thoubal district organised an Ayushman Arogya Shivir Health Mela on Tuesday at the PHC.

The event was participated by medical professionals, including Dr Yumnam Nongpoknganba (MO in-charge, Khongjom PHC), Dr Tekcham Sangini Devi (Eye Specialist, Thoubal District Hospital), and Dr Okram Prameshori (Ophthalmic Assistant, CHC Yairipok), who also provided free consultations to attendees.

A total of 77 visitors were assessed during the mela.

Of them, 54 underwent diagnostic tests for diabetes and hypertension, with 20 found having hypertension and four diagnosed with both diabetes and hypertension.

Additionally, 46 people received eye check ups, and free medicines were distributed to those in need.

The programme also featured awareness sessions on Tuberculosis (TB), Hepatitis B, antenatal check-ups (ANC), and prevention of lifestyle diseases like hypertension and diabetes, aiming to promote early detection and healthy living.
